LeEco Max 2 Price Dropped to Rs 17,999 in India

In a surprising move, LeEco India has dropped the price of the LeEco Le Max 2 to Rs 17,999 in India. The announcement comes just after the launch of Lenovo Z2 Plus which was also launched at Rs 17,999 for the 3GB RAM variant, and right in time for the festive season in India. The new pricing will go live on October 1st.

LeEco has also announced that the phones will not be exclusive to Flipkart anymore and will be made available on Amazon India and Snapdeal as well starting from Oct 1, 2016. It’s not clear which variant of Le Max2 is priced at Rs 17,999. We assume it’s the 32GB storage/4GB RAM variant which was launched at Rs 22,999 back in June this year.

For the uninitiated, the Le Max2 comes equipped with a larger 5.7-inch QHD bezel-less display and is powered by the mighty Snapdragon 820 which is in turn paired with 6GB/4GB of RAM. The graphics department is handled by the Adreno 530. The storage on the Le Max 2 supports UFS 2.0 standards which literally translates into better transfer speeds. It also features a 21-megapixel camera on the rear with OIS, f/2,0 and dual-LED flash and an 8-Megapixel selfie camera on the front. The Le Max 2 also runs on EUI wrapped around Android Marshmallow and is backed up by a 3,100 mAh battery pack. Le Max 2 also comes with a free one-year membership for the bundled content.

Earlier this month, LeEco made the Le Pro 3 official which features the latest Snapdragon 821 along with a whopping 6GB of RAM. It also comes with a 4070 mAh battery. The new Le Pro 3 is expected to be launched in India soon, which possibly explains the price cut for the Le Max 2 as well. In related news, Xiaomi is expected to offer a special discount of Rs 5,000 during the Big billion day sale on Flipkart later this week, which will also bring down the base price to Rs 17,999 for the Mi 5.
