How to Open Password Protected PDF Files Documents on Android without Root

PDF Files are one of the most widely used Documents type as their layout and formatting doesn’t change across devices. Also, their ability to be protected by password to protect unauthorised access also makes them a good tool to try. However, the Password protected PDF files cannot be opened directly on Phone. Here’s a simple tutorial which will guide you on How to Open Password Protected PDF Documents on Android.

Tutorial to Open Password Protected PDF Files on Android 
 >> To Open the Password Protected PDF , we will need a PDF Viewer which supports password input . If you have Google Drive app installed on your phone, then you can proceed to the next step, or else you can install the Google PDF Viewer app from the link –Click here to Download & Install Google PDF Viewer app from Google Play Store
Note – The Google PDF Viewer doesn’t have a separate icon or UI , hence it cannot be directly opened without a PDF File

>> Now, Open your file explorer, the default one or ES and navigate to the password encrypted PDF file you intend to open.

>> Tap on the PDF File, it will now ask you for Options for which app should open the PDF File , as shown in the image below -

Here select the “Open with Drive PDF Viewer” option as shown in the above image.

>> The Drive PDF Viewer will now open the PDF File and will ask you to enter the Password for the PDF File as shown –

Here, enter the password given to you for the PDF file and tap on the “Open”button.

The Password Protected file will now Open as shown in the screenshot below –
