Top 5 Smartphones Coming To India In January 2018!

We are just a day away from the new year. 2017 has been a great year for smartphones in general, but mid-range and budget smartphones in particular. While Xiaomi ruled the roost when it came to budget smartphones, OnePlus, Samsung and Apple vied for the top spot in the premium segment. We saw some amazing tech and beautiful designs in 2017 with phones like Mi Mix 2, iPhone X, OnePlus 5T, Samsung Galaxy S8/Note 8 and many more.

2018 promises to be even better. With Dual cameras and 18:9 displays getting more common, the initial few smartphones to be launched in January 2018 should make these new trends more of a norm. Let's take a look at the top 5 upcoming smartphones in January 2018.

  1. Xiaomi Redmi Note 5
Its predecessor was the most selling smartphone in India and quite obviously a lot of people are waiting with bated breaths as to see what the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 brings to the table. The Note 4 was launched in Jan 2017, so I am quite certain that the Note 5 will launch in Jan 2018. In addition to dual cameras and 18:9 near bezel-less display, the Redmi Note 5 is expected to come with a bigger 5.5-inch screen and Snapdragon 630/660 octa-core processor.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Plus
This year, Xiaomi is expected to launch a Plus variant of Note 5, just like they did with the Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus earlier this month. The Redmi Note 5 Plus will mostly follow the design and specs of its smaller sibling, but expected to come with a 5.99-inch display instead of 5.5-inch on the Redmi Note 5. We are still not ver sure if this will make it to India.

Nokia 7
There are some reports and rumors that Nokia is readying yet another mid-range smartphone to launch at CES 2018 in Las Vegas next week. The Nokia 7 is expected to be priced around Rs 27,000 which places it in between the higher priced Nokia 8 and lower priced Nokia 6, where Nokia has no presence yet. The Nokia 7 is expected to come with a 5.2-inch FHD display, 16-megapixel camera and 3000mAh battery.

Lenovo K7 Note
Lenovo had launched the K5 series at CES last year, so we won't be surprised if they launch the K7 series this time around at the annual convention in Las Vegas. There haven't been many launches in recent past from the Chinese company, so we can expect the K7 Note to come with a fresh look and approach. The phone is rumored to be priced below Rs 15000 and is expected to come with a big 4500mAh battery in addition to dual camera setup like we saw on the recent Lenovo smartphones.

Sony Xperia L1
Sony is also expected to bring a budget/mid-range smartphone to CES this year in the form of Xperia L1. It is rumored to come with mediocre specifications on paper with just 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, but carrying the latest Android 8.1 Oreo.
