Wonder how the all-new OnePlus 6 compares to its predecessor OnePlus 5T? Here's all that's new and not-so-new in OnePlus 6.

New: OnePlus 6 gets a slightly bigger display

OnePlus 6 gets a slightly bigger display than the OnePlus 5T. It has a 6.2-inch Optic Amoled screen with fullHD+ resolution, which is the same as its predecessor. In addition, the smartphone’s display has a notch on top (in case you loved Apple iPhone X design).

New: OnePlus 6 runs on Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, while OnePlus 5T runs on the company's previous-generation processor

You get the newest Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor powering the OnePlus 6, which is a step up from the OnePlus 5T’s Snapdragon 835 SoC.

New: Rear camera has same megapixel count, however, OnePlus 6 sports better Sony sensors
Although the camera megapixel count on both stays the same – 16MP+20MP, OnePlus 6 gets better Sony IMX sensors for a better output. Some new portrait features have also been introduced.

New: Front camera has same 16MP count but with improved sensors

The front-facing camera stays the same with 16MP. The company has used the same Sony IMX371 sensor along with f/2.0 aperture in the OnePlus 6.

New: OnePlus 6 sports glass back design

OnePlus 6 has a different build as compared to OnePlus 5. It now has a glass-back finish unlike pure metal, which gives it a sense of premium-ness.

New: OnePlus 6 is splash-proof unlike the previous-generation OnePlus 5T
OnePlus is finally bringing some level of water resistance with OnePlus 6. The device is splash proof so you won’t need to worry while carrying it in rain. Of course it is still not possible to dunk it underwater.

Old: No wireless charging, comes with Dash Charging tech as in OnePlus 5T

Despite sporting a glass back panel, OnePlus 6 still misses on wireless charging tech, something that is present in most of the flagship smartphones these days.

Old: Same 3300mAh battery capacity

Battery capacity also stays the same, 3300mAh. However, we are assuming it to be more efficient than before given the new processor. The battery also supports Dash Charging tech.

Old: Both come in the same 64GB and 128GB storage options

The inbuilt storage options stay the same with OnePlus 6 -- 64GB and 128GB. And as before, there's is no microSD card support.

Old: Both the smartphones have the same RAM options

The processor of the OnePlus 6 is supported by the 8GB and 6GB RAM options, which is the same as that with the OnePlus 5T. While the 6GB RAM will come with 64GB storage model, the 8GB version will be available with the 128GB model.

Old: Both run on Android Oreo based OxygenOS out of the box

Both OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 5T run on the same Android operating system – 8.1 Oreo. While the former comes with Android Oreo-based OxygenOS out of the box, the latter model received it as an update recently. So both should be quite similar in usage.
