Sony has expanded its range of mid-range smartphones with the launch of the Xperia E5. The device is listed on the company's global website. The phone runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow out-of-the-box, supports 4G LTE, and comes in single and dual-SIM variants. The handset offers FM Radio and NFC, and also sports ClearAudio+ powered speakers.

The Sony Xperia E5 sports a 5-inch IPS display bearing a resolution of 1,280 x 720 pixels.It's powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core 64-bit MediaTek processor, aided by 1.5GB of RAM and a Mali T720 GPU. The phone offers 16-gigs of internal memory, which can be further increased up to 200GB via a microSD card. It comes with a 13MP rear snapper with an LED flash and a 5MP selfie shooter. A 2,700mAh battery keeps it running, which promises up to two days of battery life.

The Sony Xperia E5 has been priced at the equivalent of around Rs 14,900, and will go on sale in Europe, Latin America, Middle East and Africa later this month. It comes in black or white choices.
